Objective:
To obtain a creative position within an advertising agency, where I can use my years of mentoring and award-winning conceptual, design and art direction skills.
Freelance assignments and new product development. July 2000 to present.
Since leaving Redstone, I have been involved in creating campaigns for a number of real estate developments, a couple of political campaigns, teaching typography and design at the Minneapolis campus of Miami Ad School, as well as working on new product development in the areas of Arts and Crafts garden ornaments, printed tee shirts, bookmarks and bumperstickers, and the initial development of an invention for fighting forest fires.
Senior Vice President/Creative Director, Redstone Communications, January 1998 to July 2000
Besides being a hands-on art director, I provided leadership and management to a mid-sized advertising agency in Omaha NE. I helped establish systems and procedures for the department and set the standards for creative excellence for twenty five clients. In addition, as a senior vice president, I was involved in the overall management and planning for the agency.

Partner, Dodge and Kenney, Inc., July 1982 to July 1987
Established the first creative service in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market. I was involved in all aspects of the creative process through final production on all projects.
Art director, various agencies, September 1976 to July 1982
Fahden as in Cat, March 1977 to September 1977, Martin/Williams Advertising, September 1977 to June 1980, Chuck Ruhr Advertising, June 1980 to April 1981, and Duffy Knutson Oberprillers Advertising, April 1981 to June 1982. In all cases, my responsibilities were that of art director - creative concepting, layout, photo and illustration direction, overseeing final production of newspaper ads, magazine ads, posters, outdoor, collateral and television.
Awards and recognition
Over 175 advertising and marketing awards; New York Art Directors Club, the One Show, CA, Graphis, ANDYS, the Minneapolis Show, and the Typography International Show. 1n 1980, ADVERTISING AGE Magazine selected my campaign for the Minnesota Zoological Society as “Marketing Campaign of the Year”. And in 1985, NEWSWEEK Magazine reviewed a brochure done for the lawfirm of Robins Zelle Larson and Kaplan, calling it “The wittiest brochure in the land”. But perhaps the most interesting achievement of all—the “Bob” radio commercial created for the Minneapolis office of AccounTemps Temporary Services in 1985, is still running today and has attained almost cult-status.
